Working Out At Home – Can It Help You?
There’s a plethora of home fitness workouts and products out there that claim they will help you trim up, shed unwanted pounds and look leaner, but are any of them worth it? Chances are you probably have been burned before after buying into a claim, and spending your hard earned money only to find out that it doesn’t live up to the promise.
It’s frustrating isn’t it? I know how it feels to try different workout programs and get little to no results from it. It isn’t motivating, it makes you feel like, “what’s the point?”. With all the so called fitness experts and nutrition gurus screaming at you that their way of exercising or eating will make you “melt” all those pounds of unwanted fat like a stick of butter in a microwave, it can be confusing and difficult to find a fitness program that works for you, especially when you are looking at a workout to do at home.
In this article I will be talking about home exercise DVDs like P90x, and whether or not they are worth getting.
First off, can anything of value, fitness wise, be accomplished at the comfort of your own home? Gyms are literally stocked with machines, treadmills, and exercise bikes that can be worth thousands of dollars. This equipment isn’t the kind of exercise equipment you would find in a normal person’s home either. Unless the gym near you is dumpy, we are talking about expensive, heavy duty stuff. To gain access to this equipment you most often will have to pay a monthly fee.
The question is, is access to a gym any better than, say, P90x? The answer to that question will vary from person to person, but in reality, what it boils down to is this. A calorie burned is a calorie burned. Expensive gym equipment or not, it doesn’t matter if you burned that calorie using a stair stepper that cost a ton of money, or doing a yoga workout in your living room. Just as you can burn calories at a gym, you can also burn them at home. The same goes for building muscle, you can also do it at home, without expensive equipment.
You can get fit from your own home with a workout DVD. You don’t need expensive equipment. The best kind of home exercise DVD will include resistance training as well as cardio. Even better ones will include several workouts on different DVD’s instead of giving you only one. And the best ones will help you know what you should eat, as well as how much you should eat for optimum fitness.
P90x is the perfect example of an excellent home exercise program. It includes 12 workout DVDs and a nutrition guide that tells you what to eat. It is a 90 day program that once you complete, you will be amazed at your results.
Get fit at home. Use these P90x results as motivation.
