Olympic Weights – Heavier Weights For Competitive Bodybuilders
If you want to reach the ultimate in terms of weight lifting, then you will want to train to become an Olympic weightlifters. Olympic weightlifters lift Olympic weights. These weights are extremely heavy.
Olympic weights are generally made to be much more sturdy and much heavier than your standard weights. It’s not uncommon to find them upwards of 200 pounds, with many of them going up to 500 pounds.
It takes quite a buttload of work to be able to lift weights that way anywhere between 300 to 500 pounds. Most people aren’t even willing to work towards being able to lift 200 pounds. However, if you want to be absolutely ripped, there is always a way. If you are new to lifting, however, don’t start in this area.
In fact, if you are new to lifting, you are in luck because the lesser weights are usually a lot more affordable than the Olympic weights. They are good to start with until you build your way up to Olympian strength.
These do allow you to adjust the weight, and most sets do have multiple size weights to reach up to the maximum. You should be sure that the bar that comes with the weights is enough to hold more later on. For example, if you get a weight set that is comes with 250 pounds weights and later on down the line you decide that you would like to move up to 300 pounds to 50 pounds, it would be nice to be able to buy the weights are not a whole new set.
Get a plate tree going when looking for weights, as this is very important. Having a weight tree will keep your workout area a lot more organized and make it easier to switch between different weight sets.
If you want to bring your body to a whole new level, then olympic weights are what you will want to use.
