How to Get Abs

Everyone is jealous of that person who walks by on the beach with a set of six pack abs. They walk with a swagger and comfort. They aren’t sucking in and trying to look better-they just do. But the good news is that most people can have six pack abs if they just knew a little bit more about how to get abs.

Muscles

The core of the body (from just below your pecs down to your hip area, front and back) is the area you need to train if you want that real chiselled look. Many people leave out areas of the core and just concentrate on crunches but they should be aware that all areas are as important and need to be worked. so make sure you work the mis and lower back regions as well.

Varying the your abdominal exercises are key to getting the right look. Train your sides, or obliques for the correct name, train that lower back and obviously train the central abdominal area with a range of crunches.

Crunch: Lay down on your back with your hands behind or beside your head. Plant your feet on the ground and then start the exercise by moving your head and upper body towards your knees. Do this slowly rather than rushing to get more reps.

Obliques: As with the crunch but as you reach your knees add in a twist to the side. Alternate this between sides on each rep.

Planks: Get into the press up position but rather than resting on your hand, rest on your elbows. Now stay there. How this for 1-2 minutes (try 4 sets of this). This is great for working the lower back and believe me, you’ll feel this one working you hard before that minute is up.

Diet and Nutrition

People who are not sure how to get abs often push out regular reps of crunches and wonder why they can’t see their abs. Well that’s because nutrition is a major factor when it comes to getting that six pack. Low fat content is essential and low calorie meals are the way forward. You need to get rid of that layer of fat over the abs before you can see them.
