How to Do Squats

If there’s one exercise that stands above all others when it comes to building sheer strength and power, that actually forces your body to produce more testosterone, and that can add muscle to your entire body, it would be the squat. However, even with all of the positive aspects that come with doing squats, there are just as many potential drawbacks associated with them, if you do them wrong.

Unfortunately, I am always seeing people who are just starting out trying to do squats doing them wrong and in a way that will not help them, but most likely hurt them. Just watching them hurts my back. If you’re just beginning to do squats, it is imperative that you start out with light to no weight, and make sure you master the proper form before advancing. It can certainly be easy to want to just skip the basics and want to skip right to squatting with heavy weights, but it is super easy to injure yourself if you are doing them improperly.

Here are some tips to keep in mind while doing squats:

Once your thighs are parallel to the ground and your weight is on your heels, using your legs you want to power yourself up so that you are almost standing straight up, but with a slight bend in the knees.

It may take some time before you become unconsciously competent with this exercise, but once you do, you will notice amazing results. It is worth investing the time needed to master the squat as this single exercise will do more for your body than any other exercise.
