Five Deadly Bodybuilding Mistakes You Must Avoid
Getting huge sculpted muscles is no easy job and there is a right and drastically wrong way to go about it. Underneath are 5 various deadly mistakes that will slow your muscle growth to a grinding halt.
1. Training till you drop
I can’t believe they actually teach people that to make your muscles bigger you have to train them until you cannot lift any more weight. Definitely not true. Do sprint trainers train until they collapse into a heap? No. Your workout should be intense but not to the point of you nearly losing consciousness. The only time you should train to failure is within sets. e.g. bench pressing the bar until you need a break.
2. Not logging your progress
A famous saying amongst internet marketers is “You can’t manage what you can’t measure”. Just going to the gym and randomly lifting a few weights is pointless. You must carry a log book with you every time you set foot in a gym. Record the amount of weight you use, the number of sets and reps you do and the rest time between sets. Keeping track of your progress will help show you where you are doing well and where you need to make improvements.
3. Working with inadequate weight
Big muscles require big weights. If you want your muscles to grow then moderately heavy weights won’t do, they need to be very heavy or you won’t see the gains you want. Muscle Building is easily one of the toughest challenges both physcally and mentally so don’t expect it to be a pain free ride. Lift Heavy or don’t bother lifting at all.
4. Too Much faith in nutritional supplements
Nutritional supplements are generally intensely advertised almost everywhere, all claiming to be the next scientific breakthrough. Be prepared for a surprise. Most are a complete waste of money and some are even detrimental to muscle growth. Without a doubt supplements can be useful but do not think that they determine your whole bodybuilding career. Drinking water’s certainly the most important factor as the majority of your muscle mass is made of water anyway.
5. Studying Fitness Magazines
You will find there’s load of helpful information in muscle building journals, sadly there’s also a great deal of garbage in there to. So the obvious answer is to just follow the good stuff and ignore the rubbish. Well the question is, exactly how can you tell them apart? Most sage advice is to keep away from those magazines entirely and learn from people who may have in fact built muscle successfully. Journals have an aim to make money not to help make you bulk up.
There you have it. Knowing those five bodybuilding mistakes means that you know more than most people out there who want to build serious muscle.
