Are One Of The Following Areas Making Your Training Subpar?

Exercise is the best way to get in shape. Not only does it make your body a more efficient machine, but it also doesn’t induce as much hunger in comparison to caloric restriction.

In fact, a five hundred calorie deficit created from exercise will create less hunger than a five hundred calorie deficit from food restriction.

So here are some commonly overlooked aspects of training that you should focus on:

1. The rest and recovery stage: Despite what you may feel during your workouts, the majority of change occurs during rest. So if your rest isn’t optimized, you will have a very hard time getting the most out of your training.

2. Traditional muscle building: Many commercial gym chains focus on flashy balance and stabilization exercises. Yet, the best way to change your body is with traditional muscle building. You see, muscle building creates the most rapid and profound changes in your body.

3. Posture: In this day and age, it’s hard to not have bad posture. The human body was simply not designed to be seated all day. And most people simply start exercising without any regard to their posture. Over time, this can damage your connective tissue.

4. Rotator cuff health and function: In this day and age, shoulder problems are no longer restricted to high level athletes. In fact, every day people are hurting their shoulders because of sedentary living. So make sure your exercise program doesn’t create any potential shoulder issues.

5. Psychological stimulation: Your brain and spinal cord are in direct control of your muscles. Thus, it makes sense to have some type of pre-exercise psychological preparation for the best training sessions. In a nutshell, your mind can make your body secrete hormones that will enhance physical performance.

6. Spinal stabilizers: Doing crunches on a ball doesn’t count as spinal stabilization. In fact, doing crunches can create more harm than good. So make sure you focus on stabilization before you move onto any movement based exercises like crunches.

Addressing these often overlooked aspects of training will make your workouts and results that much more productive. So take action here sooner rather than later!
